What’s new in the OnePlus 8 Pro?

The OnePlus 8 Pro is currently IP68 rated for dust and water resistance, and fast wireless charging at up to 30W. New camera sensors, a more powerful processor, a bigger battery, and a higher rate display. As compared to the OnePlus 7T Pro, that’s a quite big upgrade right there.

The display is vibrant, bright and colorful, OnePlus 8 Pro’s in-display fingerprint sensor works good. You can also use face recognition, which is equally quick.

OnePlus 8 Pro is heavier and larger than the OnePlus. The build quality and display more than make up for its size. App and gaming performance is pretty solid too. Games run just fine, no matter what you threw at this phone.

Speakers are great, loud and balanced, and the dolby Atmos setting helps improve quality and spatial separation. HDR content looks good too, and most of the streaming apps such as Netflix have no problem playing HDR video on the 8 Pro.

The OnePlus 8 pro gets four rear cameras, but the fourth camera is a unusual one. it is a ‘Color Filter’ camera and has a 5-megapixel sensor with a special filter over the lens. Pictures captured with this camera are “surreal” look.

8 Pro has a bigger 4,510mAh battery capacity, which can be charged to 100 percent in an hour.

The big add-on is of course wireless charging, which we have seen for the first time on any OnePlus phone. For fast wireless charging, you will need the special Warp Charge 30 Wireless charger, which prices Rs. 3,990. OnePlus don’t send it along with the phone.

Verdict

At a launching price of Rs. 54,999, the OnePlus 8 Pro is an affordable smartphone than the Samsung Galaxy S20 series, which costs above Rs. 70,000, and the iPhone 11 Pro which still prices above Rs. 1 lakh.
