General Manager of Redmi Lu Weibing shared a news on social media, hinting that the company is thinking the launch of a small screen phone. Redmi is known to have gotten a lot of motivation from Apple in the earlier, and Lu Weibing was indirectly mentioning at launching a similar phone like the iPhone 12 mini. Apple released the iPhone 12 mini last week along with the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, & iPhone 12 Pro Max. The iPhone 12 mini is the most reasonable from all, and it has a small 5.4-inch Super Retina display.
Lu Weibing, through his social media post, confirmed that Redmi has also considered the option of making a ‘mini’ smartphone. However, he told that the company would have to compromise and think on the battery capacity. He explained that reducing the size of a smartphone will directly mean that the battery inside will also be smaller and so the battery life will be negotiated.
The iPhone 12 mini has a 2,227mAh battery, the iPhone 12 has a big frame, and apparently has a bigger 2,815mAh battery.
Weibing offered no validation on whether the company is underway with manufacturing a Redmi smartphone with a small screen. If the company has chosen the past, more information on this Redmi ‘mini’ handset should be disclosed soon.
